Malignant cutaneous eyelid tumors account for approximately 5 to 10% of all cutaneous cancers. Basal cell carcinoma constitutes the majority of all eyelid malignancies, accounting for 86% to 96% of all cases. We report a series of 31 patients with full-thickness lower eyelid defects after cancer excision reconstructed via chondromucosal grafts from the nasal septum and the Mustardé flap, which resulted in stable lid margins with a low complication rate. Postoperative histological examination revealed that, in all patients, the tumor was completely included in the submitted specimen. Patients were followed up for at least 12 months postoperatively. No necrosis, hematoma, or infection was observed, except for one case of wound dehiscence, and no patients suffered from corneal irritation. Only one patient presented mild scleral show. On the basis of our clinical experience, we recommend the use of a septal chondromucosal 2 composite graft in conjunction with the Mustardé flap for the reconstruction of lower eyelid full- fullthickness defect.
