Two surveys were conducted of international core facilities that focused on Microscopy and Flow Cytometry for an in-depth snapshot of the landscape. Here we focus on the Flow Cytometry survey which had 148 respondents across 'The Americas', 'Asia Pacific' and 'Europe and Africa'. A variety of subjects were covered, including instrument types and quantities, staffing, fees and funding, and specific questions related to COVID response. Broadly, the global trends were similar but there were some geographical differences notably in staff to machine ratio and funding models. As this serves as a baseline for longitudinal studies, we will be able to use these data to follow trends across all metrics in the future as facilities and technologies evolve.
