Abstract:
Transition metal-catalyzed atroposelective C(sp2)-N coupling efficiently constructs valuable (hetero)biaryl scaffolds. However, nickel-catalyzed variants remain underdeveloped, and the use of carbazoles or indoles as N-nucleophiles in such couplings has not been explored. Addressing this, we report a photoredox/Ni-cocatalyzed atroposelective C(sp2)-N cross-coupling with carbazoles and indoles. This work establishes the first highly enantioselective metallaphotoredox C(sp2)-N bond formation, providing a sustainable route to valuable N-heterobiaryl atropisomers.
