Design of aspherical monofocal intraocular lens under misaligned conditions and single wavelength
Abstract:
Decentration and tilt can significantly degrade the optical performance of intraocular lenses (IOLs). This study presents a personalized design method for aspherical monofocal IOLs based on primary aberration theory and nodal aberration theory, with the aim of improving performance under conditions of decentration and tilt. The new IOL demonstrates superior control over the aberration field compared to commercially available rotationally symmetric IOLs. Through simulation and experimental measurement of several prototypes, the design exhibits significantly higher modulation transfer function and clearer imaging effects under specific misalignment conditions. These results highlight the potential of the developed method in advancing IOL designs, thereby supporting enhanced visual outcomes for patients.
