Purpose of the Study:

  • To analyze postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) rates across different Body Mass Index (BMI) categories.
  • To investigate the relative risk of PPH associated with varying levels of obesity.
  • To inform evidence-based strategies for PPH prevention in diverse patient populations.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective chart review of 4493 deliveries in two urban hospitals in 2022.
  • Patients categorized into BMI groups: healthy weight, overweight, and obesity classes 1, 2, and 3.
