Abstract:
The seventeenth edition of the international workshop organized by the Cancéropôle Grand Ouest's "Vectorization, Imaging, Radiotherapy" network highlighted the latest advances in the use of ionizing radiation in targeted cancer treatments. Particular attention was paid to recent developments in nuclear medicine, and its diagnostic and therapeutic applications, notably personalized molecular radiotherapy of tumors, tailored to each patient in a context of precision oncology.

However, cancer treatments can pose several challenges, as therapies used to kill cancer cells are generally also toxic to normal cells. Moreover, cancer cells mutate rapidly and can develop resistance to chemical agents or radiation therapy. Besides, all types of cancer cells may not respond to the same therapy.
