Abstract:
Nurse health coaching certification is a unique specialty that is being reported in the literature to support health along the continuum of illness to wellness. Board-certified nurse coaches can help clients achieve their health goals. In this article, a nurse coach provided coaching to participants using motivational interviewing techniques. This article describes an intervention in which a nurse provided health coaching to mutual-support dyads of South Asian women. Using technology-based communication and motivational interviewing techniques, the nurse supported participants in working toward their physical activity goals. This article offers a brief overview of the nurse-led health coaching component of the intervention.
