Forgotten Skin: What do our geriatric patch test findings reveal?

Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) in the elderly is primarily caused by preservatives and fragrances. Older geriatric groups showed fewer and less intense reactions, suggesting age-related immune changes impact sensitization.

- Reduced reaction severity in the oldest group may indicate immunosenescence and decreased T-cell response.
