Protocol for preparing pH-sensitive Mg-DOX liposomes by remote loading for treatment of acidic tumors

Abstract:
The efficient delivery and pH-sensitive release of anti-tumor drugs by nanocarriers have been recognized as an appealing strategy to enhance the chemotherapeutic efficacy toward acidic tumors. Here, we present a protocol for preparing magnesium-doxorubicin (Mg-DOX) liposomes as a pH-sensitive drug delivery system with a remote-loading approach. We detail the steps for the construction of MgAc2 liposomes as the precursor, drug encapsulation, and formulation of the final product.
