Abstract:
Bowel-associated dermatosis-arthritis syndrome (BADAS) is a rare neutrophilic dermatosis characterized by recurrent fever, arthralgias, and skin eruptions, most commonly occurring in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. We report the case of a 17-year-old female with Crohn's disease who developed BADAS and achieved complete and durable remission following treatment with risankizumab, an IL-23 inhibitor, and systemic steroid taper. This case underscores the potential role of IL-23-mediated pathways in the pathogenesis of BADAS. Our findings suggest risankizumab may represent a promising therapeutic option for relapsing cases of BADAS associated with Crohn's disease.
