Abstract:
Nitazenes, developed as analgesic candidates in the 1950s, were never approved because of fatal side effects. In this forum article, we integrate current mechanistic insights into nitazenes' functionality and discuss their activity at the μ-opioid receptor and the implications of their use in vivo.
