Abstract:
Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) are essential for treating chronic myeloid leukemia and Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia. While cardiovascular risk with TKIs is well recognized, significant coronary artery stenosis requiring percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) during therapy is less often reported. We describe three leukemia patients who developed acute or urgent coronary syndromes during TKI treatment, necessitating PCI. Although some patients had traditional cardiovascular risk factors, angiography and intravascular ultrasound revealed advanced coronary atherosclerosis, underscoring the need for early risk assessment, multidisciplinary care, and timely intervention in TKI-treated patients.
