Introduction:
Superthin ALT flaps offer functional and aesthetic advantages in hemitongue reconstruction. Preserving a deep fascia cuff enables a safer, more intuitive, and practical approach.
Methods:
Thirty-seven cases were retrospectively reviewed. Flap thickness and cuff diameter were analyzed for association with complications.
Results:
Mean flap thickness was 0.69 cm and cuff diameter 3.09 cm. Neither showed significant correlation with thrombosis or flap failure.
Conclusion:
This standardized technique offers a reliable, intuitive method for safe and effective hemitongue reconstruction using superthin ALT flaps.
