[Day-case surgery for breast cancer. Myth or reality?]

One of the most popular trends in modern surgery is inpatient replacement technologies. Such terms as "short-stay hospital", "outpatient surgery", "one-day surgery", "day-case surgery" and "outpatient surgery" became widespread in the literature. In some countries, one-day surgeries comprise 75-87% of all elective surgical interventions. In the Russian Federation, "short-stay hospital" appeared as a pilot project in 2016. Every year, the number of surgical interventions that can be performed in short-stay hospital is steadily growing. Surgical treatment of breast cancer is also constantly evolving to minimize the risks of intervention and improve the quality of life. This article attempts to answer the question: is it possible to apply this approach in reality considering current scientific and clinical data?
