[Regional Disparities and Spatiotemporal Evolution of the Integration Level Between China's Logistics Industry and

Abstract:
Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" goals, exploring the synergistic relationship between the logistics industry and the low-carbon economy and promoting their effective coupling and coordinated development are of great significance for achieving the carbon peak target. Based on panel data from 30 Chinese provinces between 2013 and 2022, this study systematically analyzes the regional disparities and spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of the integration level between the logistics industry and the low-carbon economy using coupling weighting methods, the Gini coefficient, kernel density estimation, and spatial autocorrelation analysis. The results indicated that: ① During the study period, the integration level of China's logistics industry and low-carbon economy showed an upward trend year by year. The coupling coordination grade transitioned from being predominantly marginal or primary coordination to primarily primary coordination, though the overall level remained relatively low. ② Regional heterogeneity was significant, presenting an "east-high, west-low" gradient pattern. The coupling coordination degree in the eastern region led with rapid growth, while the central, western, and northeastern regions lagged in growth. ③ Intra-regional differences exhibited minor fluctuations with an increasing trend, and inter-regional differences constituted the main source of overall disparities, with the contribution rate of total differences fluctuating over time. ④ The spatial pattern demonstrated club convergence characteristics, with high-level regions tending to cluster, though spatial spillover effects remained limited. This study provides an in-depth analysis of the spatial heterogeneity and dynamic evolution mechanisms of the coordinated development between the logistics industry and the low-carbon economy, offering important decision-making insights for constructing differentiated policy systems and optimizing resource allocation.
