Synthesis, Hybridization, and Structural Engineering of Metal Sulfides for High-Performance Electromagnetic Wave...

With the increasingly severe electromagnetic pollution, there is an urgent need to develop high-performance electromagnetic wave absorption (EMA) materials. Metal sulfides have emerged as a research hotspot in the field of EMA due to their unique electromagnetic properties and high structure tunability. The combination of advanced synthesis processes and excellent material design schemes has promoted the development of the metal sulfide family in the field of EMA. This review outlines the recent research progress of metal sulfides in the field of EMA from three perspectives: synthesis, hybridization, and structural engineering. Different types of metal sulfides, synthesis methods, attenuation mechanisms, and modification approaches are elaborated in detail. Particularly, the modification approaches of metal sulfides are systematically summarized from two perspectives: hybridization, including doping engineering and composite strategies, and multi-scale structural engineering. Meanwhile, the current challenges and future development directions of metal sulfides in the field of EMA are summarized. This review aims to provide new perspectives for the development of metal sulfide-based electromagnetic functional materials and promote the advancement of the field of EMA.
