Lung volume reduction procedures like LVRS and BLVR did not significantly improve maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures in emphysema patients. These treatments did not alter respiratory muscle strength at three-month follow-up.

- Neither LVRS nor BLVR significantly improved MIP or MEP in emphysema patients at the 3-month follow-up.
- These lung volume reduction interventions did not demonstrate a measurable improvement in respiratory muscle strength within this timeframe.
- Further research may be needed to explore longer-term effects or alternative outcome measures for these procedures.
