Concurrent gastric and pancreatic heterotopia in a duodenal polyp

Heterotopia refers to the presence of normal human tissue in an atypical anatomical location. Gastric heterotopia indicates gastric tissue found outside the stomach, while pancreatic heterotopia involves pancreatic tissue outside the pancreas without anatomical or vascular continuity. This condition is usually asymptomatic and discovered incidentally. We report a rare case of concurrent gastric and pancreatic heterotopia within a single duodenal polyp, identified during routine oesophagogastroduodenoscopy in a man in his 30s. The coexistence of two distinct heterotopias in a single lesion makes this an instructive and exceptionally rare pathological finding.
