Abstract:
Pigmented spitz nevus is a rare benign melanocytic lesion that may clinically mimic malignant melanoma, particularly when occurring at unusual sites such as the genitalia. We report a case of a child presenting with congenital phimosis associated with blackish discolouration of the foreskin. Circumcision was performed and histopathological examination of the excised foreskin revealed a pigmented spitz nevus, a rare benign melanocytic lesion. This case highlights the importance of careful evaluation of pigmented lesions of the foreskin and the role of histopathology in establishing a definitive diagnosis.

Papillary Dermis
The dermis might be considered the "core" of the integumentary system, as distinct from the epidermis and hypodermis. It contains blood and lymph vessels, nerves, and other structures, such as hair follicles and sweat glands. The dermis is made of two layers of connective tissue that comprise an interconnected mesh of elastin and collagenous fibers, produced by fibroblasts.

The papillary layer is made of loose, areolar connective tissue, which means the collagen and...
