Using Routine Data for Automatic Early Detection of Delirium - An Algorithm Proposal

The early detection of delirium can prevent further complications, but many assessments need additional data collection. To create an algorithm that uses clinical routine data to calculate a "delirium - need for clarification", commonly used screening questionnaires were compared. Aggregate Dimensions were determined and validated by nursing science experts. Items of a nursing documentation data model were mapped to the Aggregate Dimensions. Calculation rules for automatic output of a "delirium - need for clarification" were specified.
