Opinions of University Students and Healthcare Professionals About Health Informatics

This paper explores the opinions of university students and healthcare professionals in Greece regarding the domain of Health Informatics and its applicability in everyday practice. A cross-sectional online survey was conducted in 2025. The questionnaire assessed participants' demographics, prior experience with Health Informatics applications, and perceptions of six dimensions: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards use, perceived compatibility, perceived innovation, and intention to use Health Informatics solutions. Results demonstrated an overall positive perception of Health Informatics, with mean values above 3.3 out of 5 in all dimensions. "Attitude towards use" was significantly influenced by perceived usefulness, ease of use, and compatibility, while "intention to use" was predicted by attitude towards use, usefulness, and innovation. Participants who attended more than one Health Informatics related academic course reported more frequent and professionally oriented use of Health Informatics applications. The findings emphasize the growing acceptance of Health Informatics and underline the importance of education in fostering digital readiness within the healthcare workforce.
