Abstract:
We read with great interest the article written by Tapiolas et al. on percutaneous sigmoidopexy (PS) in sigmoid volvulus (SV). Although SV is not an over-rife disease worldwide, Eastern Anatolia is an endemic area of SV. As a result, our 1,101 patients with SV treated over 59.5 years (between June 1966 and January 2026) constitute the most comprehensive single-centre SV series over the world. Based on this clinical practice, our comments relate to PS in SV.
