Abstract:
We have designed a short, improved synthetic strategy for the synthesis of a multi-tactical anti-oxidant small macrocycle molecule. The overall simplified 6-step synthetic scheme gave a chemical yield of 45.7 % compared to the previously reported strategy of 22.4 %. The synthesis of the macrocycle started with esterification of chelidamic acid through a series of reactions, including Richman-Atkins macrocyclization, and ends with global deprotection of compound 6 to obtain the final product.
