Colorenal fistulae, a rare complication of renal tumor ablation, were successfully closed using through-the-scope suturing (TTSS). This endoscopic technique offers a safe, cost-effective, and minimally invasive alternative to surgery for colonic fistulae.

Area of Science:

  • Gastroenterology
  • Urology
  • Endoscopic Surgery

Background:

  • Colorenal fistulae are rare but serious complications following percutaneous ablation of renal cell carcinoma.
  • Surgical intervention for these fistulae carries significant morbidity.
