Venous origins of choroid plexus vasculature: insights from zebrafish

The choroid plexus vasculature plays a critical role in maintaining cerebrospinal fluid homeostasis. In a recent study, Lee et al. identified two venous sources that give rise to the hindbrain myelencephalic choroid plexus vasculature in zebrafish and demonstrated that Vegf receptor pathways are required for choroid plexus vascularization.
