Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine if allergen-specific IgE antibody superclasses are associated with idiopathic rhinitis in dogs.
  • To assess the diagnostic or predictive value of allergen-specific IgE in canine IR.
  • To raise awareness about canine nasal health and the impact of untreated nasal discharge.

Main Methods:

  • Included 46 dogs with chronic nasal discharge, comprising 13 IR cases, 10 malignant tumors, 6 benign tumors, 8 other inflammatory nasal diseases, and 9 controls.

  • Excluded dogs with systemic diseases or recent corticosteroid treatment.
