Purpose of the Study:

  • To explore patient demography, epidemiology, diagnostic criteria, and laboratory findings of APDE.
  • To review existing literature on APDE.
  • To define the evolving characteristics of APDE.

  • A comprehensive literature search was conducted using MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Google Scholar.
  • Included retrospective observational studies, case series, and case reports.
  • Analyzed data from 431 patients.

  • APDE cases are increasingly reported outside Southeast Asia.
