Atrial dysfunction, measured by atrial long axis shortening (LAS) via cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR), independently predicts adverse cardiovascular events in patients with possible myocarditis. This finding enhances risk stratification beyond traditional markers like ejection fraction and late gadolinium enhancement.
