Relay-Flap Technique Using Proper Digital Artery and Dorsal Metacarpal Artery Flaps for Fingertip Reconstruction

Fingertip injuries with combined soft‑tissue loss require solutions that balance durable coverage, sensibility, and appearance. Established options-advancement flaps, homodigital island flaps, and free tissue transfers-can succeed but often incur donor morbidity, color-texture mismatch, or technical demands in emergencies. We report a sequential "relay‑flap" approach-a proper digital artery island flap followed by a dorsal metacarpal artery flap-that achieved stable resurfacing and preserved function.
