  • Antimicrobial stewardship was the most frequent intervention (63.2%), but implementation science frameworks were rarely used; most studies used observational designs and assessed short-term outcomes.

Conclusions:

  • Significant geographical and sectoral inequities exist in AMR intervention research across ASEAN countries.
  • Urgent need for investment in underrepresented regions and integrated One Health strategies to address fragmented AMR initiatives.
  • Current approaches are insufficient for sustained population-level impact on antimicrobial resistance without substantial advancements.
