Anosmia in a patient with Silver-Russell syndrome

The human sense of smell is important for the awareness of danger like gas, fire or spoiled food, perception of the flavours of food and drink, and social interaction. The impact of limited olfactory capacity or total loss of the sense of smell may be associated with decline in the quality of life and depressive symptoms. Various conditions can be the cause of olfactory disorders, including congenital absence of the olfactory nerve. We present a boy with Silver-Russell syndrome suffering from anosmia.
