Abstract:
The anterior cortical reference (ACR) technique is introduced as a novel method for determining distal femoral resection alignment in kinematic alignment total knee arthroplasty. This study describes the surgical technique and its potential advantages. The ACR technique utilizes an anterior reference guide positioned subperiosteally along the anterior cortical bone to establish a parallel relationship between the anterior cortex and the cutting block. This method ensures precise femoral component alignment while maintaining a minimally invasive approach. Its benefits include reduced surgical invasiveness and applicability in patients with existing intramedullary implants.
