Radiology reports are the primary product of diagnostic radiology, yet the language in which they are written is rarely taught formally. The difference between "no acute findings" and "normal study" can shape clinical decisions, medicolegal exposure, and a trainee's emerging professional voice, but most residents learn these distinctions by osmosis rather than instruction. We argue that semantic precision in radiology reporting is a teachable skill and propose five educational interventions to bring it out of the hidden curriculum: monthly structured report-writing workshops, peer-review exercises with faculty feedback, revised evaluation templates that explicitly score semantic clarity, integration of natural language processing tools for real-time linguistic feedback and dedicated didactic time treating language as a core competency. We draw on a narrative literature review of language use in radiology, the hidden curriculum in medical education, and natural language processing in reporting. We describe how each intervention can be staged across the four-year residency and adapted to subspecialty context, discuss how trainees can communicate calibrated confidence rather than default to vague hedging, and consider the role of artificial intelligence in supporting rather than replacing the radiologist's voice. Formalizing semantic training signals that clear, calibrated language is as clinically meaningful as accurate interpretation. Mastering radiology is not only about interpreting images. It is about building a voice that speaks clearly, confidently, and clinically.
