    Summary

    Intracortical hemangioma in the tibia can mimic osteoid osteoma on imaging. This rare bone tumor requires consideration in the differential diagnosis of osteoid osteoma.

    • A case of intracortical hemangioma in the tibial diaphysis presented with identical radiological and macroscopic features to osteoid osteoma.

    Findings:

    • The imaging and gross pathological findings of intracortical hemangioma can be indistinguishable from osteoid osteoma.
    • This highlights the importance of considering rare differential diagnoses.

    Implications:

    • Radiologists and orthopedic surgeons should include intracortical hemangioma in the differential diagnosis of suspected osteoid osteoma.
    • Accurate diagnosis is crucial for appropriate management and to avoid unnecessary interventions.
