310 mJ, 1 kHz, 700 fs for 1030 nm thin-disk regenerative amplifier
Abstract:
We present the Dira 300-1 series, a next-generation of ytterbium-doped (Yb) thin-disk-based regenerative amplifiers operating at a central wavelength of 1030 nm, developed at TRUMPF Scientific Lasers. To maximize energy, the amplifier is equipped with two diode-pumped Yb-doped thin-disk active mirrors. The system can be set at 1 kHz, 2 kHz, or 3 kHz repetition rates, delivering, respectively, 310 mJ, 250 mJ, or 150 mJ laser pulses after compression. At all repetition rates, the amplifier exhibits comparable pulse-to-pulse energy stability < 1%rms. The pulse duration is shorter than 700 fs, and the beam quality factor (M2) is below 1.4 for all configurations. The Dira 300-1 system offers external-trigger synchronization and true turn-key operation with a warm-up time below 20 minutes, enabling stable, hands-off use in demanding experimental settings.
