Metasurface-driven and polarization controlled broadband on chip tractor beam effect for the cluster of particles

A polarization-selective on-chip optical pulling mechanism is numerically demonstrated using a dual-layer plasmonic-dielectric metasurface. Plasmonic (Au), dielectric (SiO₂), and right-handed chiral Rayleigh nanospheres are studied individually and as a heterogeneous three-particle cluster under normally incident broadband x- and y-polarized illumination. Pulling forces occur in all cases but are generally spectrally limited. For the heterogeneous cluster, only y-polarized excitation produces a sustained broadband pulling regime, where all particles experience negative force over an extended wavelength range. This behavior arises from polarization-dependent surface-mode coupling and cluster-induced symmetry breaking, enabling compact polarization-controlled broadband optical manipulation.
