Sex and Age Differences in Procedural and Medium-Term Electrical Performance Outcomes of Dual-Chamber Leadless

Background:
Studies regarding sex and age differences in clinical outcomes of DCLP patients remain limited.
Methods:
This was a retrospective, single-center study, which evaluated the consecutive patients who underwent Aveir DCLP implantation between January 2024 and September 2025. The included patients were divided into two groups based on sex or age. Procedural outcomes and device performance at implantation, at 1st follow-up between 1 and 3 months, at 2nd follow-up between 3 and 6 months, and at 3rd follow-up between 6 and 12 months were evaluated.
Results:
A total of 151 patients were included. Among them, 66 patients (43.7%) were female, and 49 (32.5%) patients were younger than 75 years old. For comparison between sexes, female patients had higher ventricular impedance (782.55 ± 279.26 vs. 687.85 ± 268.07 Ω, p = 0.029) at the time of implant. Female patients also had lower atrial sensing compared to their male counterparts at 1st and 2nd follow up. For comparison between patients who were < 75 years old and > =75 years old, at 3rd follow up, atrial sensing is lower in patients of 75 years and older (3.69 ± 1.02 vs. 2.86 ± 1.83 mV, p = 0.022). There was no significant difference in procedural outcomes between different sex and age groups.
Conclusion:
There were no clinically significant differences regarding post-procedural complications and electrical parameters between different ages and sexes. These findings from real-life study are reassuring to support wider utilization of these devices.
