A crisis clinic may provide an opportunity for a youth to receive timely, suicide-focused care in a nonrestrictive setting. Children's Hospital Colorado provides a model for this type of clinic. Youth, caregivers, and referring clinicians have voiced satisfaction with this treatment option, which has afforded swift connection to evidence-based and family-focused outpatient therapy as a safe alternative to higher levels of care for suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Our implementation process has highlighted the importance of robust care coordination support and collaboration in transitioning youth into, or back to, treatment in their communities.
