Case:
A 10-year-old boy, later the first author, sustained a fracture of the right distal femoral epiphysis Salter-Harris type Ⅳ and underwent osteosynthesis the same day. Two years later, I developed 24° valgus, 45° external rotation deformity, and 40-mm leg-length discrepancy. Femoral correction with the Taylor Spatial Frame (TSF) was performed at age 12, followed by tibial correction at age 14, achieving good alignment and function without pain or osteoarthritic symptoms at 20-year follow-up.
Conclusion:
Deformity correction with the TSF can provide favorable long-term outcomes in complex growth disturbance after distal femoral epiphyseal injury.
