Dynamic Maneuvers Improve Ultrasound Detection of Supraspinatus Tendon Tears

We describe new ultrasound dynamic maneuvers that can help clinicians to demonstrate a supraspinatus tendon tear. Images and video clips are provided with the latest generation of ultrasound machines and labeled for didactical purposes. We believe that incorporating these techniques into a standard ultrasound examination of the rotator cuff can significantly improve the diagnostic confidence in depicting supraspinatus tendon tears. A possible limitation of these maneuvers is that they seem less effective in articular-sided partial-thickness tears.
