Abstract:
Brassica napus L. is our main source of edible vegetable oil, possessing extremely important economic value. Here, the proteome profiles of 20 tissues (6 developmental stages) of B. napus L. were constructed using a proteomics approach. A total of 10 234 proteins were identified, which clustered the tissues into four groups. The functional enrichment analysis revealed that the functions of group-specific expressed proteins were correlated with tissue characteristics. Homologous comparison analysis of unannotated proteins revealed that BnaA05g34530D and BnaA03g18930D may be related to the abscisic acid pathway. Meanwhile, the BnaA08g29690D protein may be involved in programmed cell death during pollen tube attraction. Proteins were clustered into 18 modules based on expression profiling, which also gives clues for the functional annotation of proteins. For example, the unannotated proteins BnaA02g24130D and BnaA09g54870D may be associated with leaf senescence, and the BnaC01g21180D may be related to pollen tube elongation. Functional validation in Nicotiana benthamiana leaves confirmed that three of them act as positive regulators of leaf senescence. Analysis of leaf protein expression patterns at different stages revealed that the BnaC07g50320D protein, which may belong to the ENODL family, showed increased expression abundance during true leaf development, and its function is likely related to leaf development. This work will provide data support for understanding the characteristics and functions of oilseed rape tissues and subsequent molecular mechanism studies.
