Abstract:
When medication and other interventions for challenging behaviour in people with dementia are insufficient, safety net enclosures are frequently used. It is a restrictive intervention with a limited number of available research studies. This article presents some data from an observational study that we have published recently. Finally, we discuss for which patient groups, in which settings, and under what conditions the use of safety net enclosures could be considered.
