Is Teicoplanin Resistance Detected By The Automated System In Staphylococcus spp Strains Reliable?

Automated systems are unreliable for detecting teicoplanin resistance in Staphylococcus isolates. Broth microdilution (BMD) is recommended for confirming resistance, especially for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and coagulase-negative Staphylococcus (CoNS).
