A neutral amidophosphine-stabilized Ge(I) dimer 3 featuring a Ge-Ge σ-bond was prepared and structurally characterized. Homolytic dissociation of compound 3 into the neutral monomeric Ge(I) radical in solution was observed, as confirmed by NMR spectroscopy, EPR spectroscopy, and reactivity studies.
