A Case of Fallopian Tubal Mole Laparoscopically Treated before Tubal Rupture and a 5-year Literature Review

Abstract:
A healthy 29-year-old woman visited the clinic with a positive pregnancy test result. At 8 weeks, ultrasonography showed no fetal sac in the uterus, and an unevenly thickened endometrium and lutein cyst in the right adnexa, and no ascites. Beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (beta-hCG) level was 67,780 mIU/mL, but no symptoms were observed. Therefore, the uterine contents were removed, and pathological examination detected no chorionic villi in the uterus. At 9 weeks, there was a 43 mm isomass in the right adnexa. An magnetic resonance imaging was performed on the same day. A mass of 43 mm in the right fallopian tube, along with high hCG level, led to the decision to perform a salpingectomy. Pathological examination confirmed a partial hydatidiform mole in the right fallopian tube. The beta-hCG level steadily decreased after the removal of the mole. We report a case of a fallopian tubal mole successfully treated laparoscopically before tubal rupture.
