Abstract:
Kidney transplant recipients are at higher risk of developing malignancies compared with the general population, which are mostly recipient in origin1. We describe a patient who developed a donor-derived acute myeloid leukemia (AML) five years after kidney transplantation. His donor developed AML four years earlier, providing proof of transmission of leukemia-initiating cells in solid organ transplant (SOT).
