Low-dimensional organic-inorganic hybrid halides have emerged as a new kind of promising scintillators owing to their high light output and tunable emission across the full visible spectrum. Exploration of new Cu-based halides for x-ray applications has become a current research hotspot. Herein, we performed a solvent-mediated structural design strategy and prepared two new Cu(I)-based halides of (AEMP)4[Cu2Br6]3 and (AEMP)[Cu3Br6]·H2O (AEMP = 1-(2-Aminoethyl)-4-Methyl-Piperazine), in a system. Interestingly, (AEMP)4[Cu2Br6]3 contains 0D [Cu2Br6]4- dimer, while (AEMP)[Cu3Br6]·H2O is composed of 1D [Cu3Br6]3- chain building from corner-shared [Cu3Br6] trimers. In contrast to unstable (AEMP)4[Cu2Br6]3, (AEMP)[Cu3Br6]·H2O exhibits stable and highly efficient photoluminescence and radioluminescence emission with a near-unity photoluminescence quantum yield of 99.45% and a promising radioluminescence light yield of 27,185 photons MeV-1, respectively. Meanwhile, the detection limit of 66.31 nGyair s-1 is much lower than the x-ray dose required for diagnosis (5.5 µGyair s-1). A flexible film with excellent foldability and crack resistance was fabricated for x-ray imaging, which achieves a high spatial resolution of 10 lp mm-1. Combining multiple advantages, including low cost, high luminescence efficiency, and excellent scintillation performance, enable this cuprous halide to stand out as a promising x-ray scintillator.

Structural Isomerism
Isomers are different chemical species that have the same chemical formula. Structural isomerism of coordination compounds can be divided into two subcategories, the linkage isomers and coordination-sphere isomers.
Linkage isomers occur when the coordination compound contains a ligand that can bind to the transition metal center through two different atoms. For example, the CN− ligand can bind through the carbon atom or through the nitrogen atom. Similarly, SCN− can be...

Acid Halides to Ketones: Gilman Reagent
As shown below, the mechanism proceeds in two steps. First, one of the alkyl groups of the reagent acts as a nucleophile and attacks the acyl carbon of the acid chloride to form a tetrahedral intermediate. This is followed by the reformation of the carbon–oxygen double...

Colors and Magnetism
When atoms or molecules absorb light at the proper frequency, their electrons are excited to higher-energy orbitals. For many main group atoms and molecules, the absorbed photons are in the ultraviolet range of the electromagnetic spectrum, which cannot be detected by the human eye. For coordination compounds, the energy difference between the d orbitals often allows photons in the visible range to be absorbed and emitted, which is seen as colors by the human eye.
