Abstract:
In this issue of Neuron, Hill et al. show that sustained exposure to inflammatory mediators can drive human astrocytes through evolving reactive states, revealing time-dependent transcriptional, epigenetic, and immune-facing programs that remain remarkably plastic after the initiating stimulus is removed.
