Abstract

Insights

First-line trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) shows high efficacy in oligometastatic HER2-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This approach led to a complete pathological response in a patient who declined standard therapies.

Area of Science:

  • Oncology
  • Medical Genetics
  • Pharmacology

Background:

  • HER2 exon 20 insertions are uncommon oncogenic drivers in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
  • Trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) is effective in pretreated metastatic HER2-mutant NSCLC.
  • First-line T-DXd use in oligometastatic settings is not well-documented.
