Abstract:
Morel-Lavallée lesions (MLLs) are uncommon posttraumatic closed degloving injuries that occur when shearing forces separate subcutaneous tissue from the underlying fascia, leading to a hemolymphatic fluid collection. This report describes two patients who developed chronic medial thigh MLLs following road traffic trauma. Both lesions were accurately diagnosed using ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging and successfully treated with ultrasound-guided aspiration followed by sclerotherapy using sodium tetradecyl sulfate. Follow-up imaging confirmed complete resolution without recurrence. Image-guided minimally invasive management provides an effective alternative to surgical excision for chronic or recurrent MLLs.
